Clock Dials That Feel Right
Welcome to the Bauhaus Clock—a digital homage to functional design, minimalist shapes, and the classic beauty of Swiss and German station clocks. In alignment with the core Bauhaus principle of form follows function, this clock strips away all unnecessary widgets, leaving you with an elegant, immersive timepiece optimized for desk displays, secondary monitors, or full-screen relaxation.
Authentic Bauhaus Aesthetics
The design features hand-tuned layouts featuring perfect circles, balanced straight lines, and crisp geometry. Every element has been placed with mechanical precision. In the classic configuration, the dial sports 12 dominant hour ticks and 48 subtle minute subdivisions, creating a clean visual rhythm that is easy to read at a glance.
16 Curated Color Schemes
We believe color should evoke mood and fit your workspace perfectly. The Bauhaus Clock features 16 custom color palettes designed to shine brightly by day and glow softly by night:
Watch Movements You Can Feel
Select from three distinct physical ticking options:
- Mechanical Sweep: Simulates a traditional luxury mechanical watch calibre beating at 28,800 beats per hour (8 sub-ticks per second) for a calm, organic flow.
- Quartz Tick: Replicates a standard battery-powered quartz wall clock, featuring a distinct once-a-second stepping animation with a natural physics-based overshoot spring bounce.
- Continuous Sweep: Employs high-frequency 60 FPS requestAnimationFrame calculations to deliver a buttery-smooth, uninterrupted rotation of the second hand.
Day & Night Adaptation
When you toggle the Dial Mode between Day and Night, the colors and lighting adapt automatically. In Day mode, the dial face is bright, matte, and high contrast. In Night mode, the dial turns dark and activates a luminescent glow effect on the hands and markers, simulating the radio-phosphorescent glow of vintage desk watches.
Classic vs. Compact Layouts
Switch between Classic and Compact sizes depending on your preference. Classic mode reveals a fully divided index dial—ideal for keeping precise track of minutes. Compact mode shrinks the dial and trims the markings down to just the 12 primary hour markers, turning the clock into a highly minimal, abstract ornament.
